How To Be Saved
According to the Canon of Scripture the word of God Romans 10:9; the Holy Spirit said through the Apostle Paul “that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be saved.” A long time ago approximately two thousand plus years ago A Roman jailer asked of the Apostle Paul the greatest question that could be asked by any human being, “what must I do to be Saved?” and Paul’s answer to him was immediate and he replied “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:30-31) The Holy Spirit also says through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9 “for by Grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.” Paul said in Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should Glory (boast), save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom the world is Crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Whenever the thief would hang on the Cross next to the Lamb of God, he made a profound statement “He said Lord remember me”. And Jesus turned toward the penitent thief and replied “This day shall you be with me in Paradise.” He did not have to perform any type of work, all he had to do was believe and he was saved. How was he saved? By evidencing faith in Christ, in who he was and what he came to do, it’s just that simple. Jesus said in the Gospel of John 10:9 “I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and go in and out, and find pasture. Jesus also said in the Gospel of John 14:6 “I am the way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes unto the father, but by me. The only requirement for one to be saved is that one must evidence faith in Christ and in Christ alone and what He has done at the Cross, “without faith it is impossible to please God,” (Faith in the Cross of Christ Hebrews 11:16) According to Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.” The Holy Spirit said through Paul in Romans 5:12. “Wherefore, as by one man (the First Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” But John the Baptist in introducing Christ uttered the words “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) Romans 6:23 reads “the wages of sin in death but the Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So one is saved by simple faith in Christ and what He has done at the Cross of Golgotha Hill.
