ABOUT THE MESSAGE
The Lord gave the Apostle Paul the meaning of the New Covenant, which pertains to what Christ has done at the Cross (the crucifixion). Someone has said and rightly so, that the Old Testament was the New Testament concealed and the New Testament was the Old Testament revealed. On the very first pages of the Bible we see the cross. In Genesis 3:15 the Lord said unto Satan through the serpent, “I will put enmity (animosity, hostility, and hatred) between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” The seed of the woman spoke of the Virgin birth of Christ (Is. 7:14) and the seed of the Serpent spoke of Satan and all of his followers. The bruising of the serpents head spoke of the powers of darkness (Satan and his henchmen) being defeated and Satan taken a fatal blow to the head because all sin was atoned for at the Cross (Colossians 2:14-15). Sin is what gives Satan the legal right to hold man in captivity and as his captive, but due to all sin being atoned for at the Cross Satan no longer has legal right to hold man as his inmate or prisoner, because he that the Son makes free is free indeed (John 8:32, 36) Satan hates the Message of the Cross and he hates nothing else, because nothing else is a threat to him. It was only at the Cross that Satans kingdom was wrecked and destroyed. This is why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:17- 18 “ For Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the Gospel; not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ be made of none effect, for the Preaching of the Cross is to them who perish foolishness; but unto us which are Saved it is the Power of God. He also said in 1 Corinthians 1:23 “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called both Jews and Greeks, Christ the Power of God. I could go on and on, but I believe you get the picture. The message of the Cross is the only message that can set the sinner free from the bondages of sin and the powers of darkness, as it is preached under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit (1 Thess. 1:5) The Holy Spirit who is the one who actually carries out the work, functions totally and completely within the legal parameters of the Cross of Christ (Rom. 8:2) and He will not function in no other capacity. Christ is the Source and the Cross is the means. The way to God is through Jesus (John. 14:6), the way to Jesus is through the Cross (Luke 9:23) and the way to the Cross is by and through an abnegation of self (Luke 9:23-25).
